CNU Illinois is a 501-C3 non-profit organization, controlled by its membership and led by a voluntary Board of Directors. The Directors serve two-year terms, and are assisted in their administrative duties by an Executive Committee. Leadership Plan
Purpose: To establish a chain of succession for the leadership of CNU-IL. This model requires a three year commitment to leadership with a path through the chain of officers that exposes an individual to the operation of the organization.
Board of Directors refer to CNU-IL By-laws Article IV
- Board of Directors
- Eleven Voting Members each serves a 3 year term
- First year of service as board member
- Second year of service an individual is eligible to seek and serve on Executive Committee as an officer of the corporation.
- Third year of service eligible to seek Chair position.
Officers & Executive Committee Members refer to CNU-IL By-laws Article IV Section 5.1
- Secretary A Board Member becomes eligible after one year of service as a board member
- Treasurer A Board Member becomes eligible after one year of service as a board member
- Vice Chair A Board Member becomes eligible after one year of service as a board member
- Chair An Executive committee member becomes eligible after one year of Service on Executive Committee
Annual Election of Officers and Directors
- The process of seeking candidates for election to the board of directors of CNU-IL will begin annually on September 1st
- The Chair, through available electronic means of communication will ask for applications from the chapter membership.
- An application will be deemed suitable for consideration from any
member who:
- Writes a Letter of Interest to the Board stating one or more reasons for their desire to serve on the board, and
- Submits a current Curriculum Vitae, and
- obtains three (3) signatures of other Chapter members, and
- Submits a signed copy, acknowledging and accepting the policies set for the CNU Illinois Board Members Responsibilities.
- Applications shall be submitted electronically or in hard copy to the Chair.
- Members of the Board Members shall be elected by the majority vote of the Board of Directors in accordance with the Chapter By-laws.
