Benefits of Membership

CNU National Congress
Attend the premier gathering of New Urbanists. Our annual, members-only Congress is the leading venue for new urbanist collaboration and education. CNU members come from far and wide to discuss development practices and public policies, learn from recent innovative work, and advance CNU initiatives.

CNU.org
Gain instant access to the resources you need. CNU.org includes a member directory, member profiles and portfolios, forums for discussion, a project database, an interactive imagebank, archives of all CNU publications, research by members, job listings, the latest news on New Urbanism, and more.

New Urban News
Keep abreast of New Urbanism's advances. All members receive a subscription to New Urban News, an independent newsletter covering traditional town planning, new urbanist development, and an update of CNU news (a $79 value).

Initiatives
Help break down barriers to adopting New Urbanism. CNU organizes working groups of leading experts from the fields of design, planning, environment, transportation, development, and education. This is the place for members to introduce New Urbanism to their professions, to work with standard-setting organizations, or to help build new strategies for improving our built environment.

Charter Awards
Show your project to the world. CNU sponsors one of the most respected urban design awards programs internationally. The Charter Awards seek to recognize exemplary efforts to plan and build according to the Charter of the New Urbanism. Members receive reduced rates for entries.

Publication Discounts
Build your library. The CNU Collection provides members discounted access to a wide array of books, papers, DVDs, and other media on the topic of New Urbanism.

Support
Find help when you need it. CNU staff is available throughout the year to help you find people, information, and other resources in your quest to improve the quality of the built environment.

Charter
Keep the principles of the New Urbanism close at hand with a copy of the Charter of the New Urbanism. The Charter outlines the movement's core principles and is the touchstone for dialogue and debate among members.
